As one of the most trendy and fashionable districts in all of Los Angeles, Silver Lake is home to a steady and growing base of young musicians, artists and business owners. In addition to its location just five miles Northwest of downtown Los Angeles and just east of Griffith Park, eclectic restaurants, nightclubs, and shops create a desirable atmosphere and thus demand for area housing is high. As a result, rents in the area also tend to be higher than in many neighboring communities. Vacancy rates are very low and the units are located in an active economic district. According to the most recent data, there were 77,231 people in the neighborhood (90026 zip code). The racial makeup of the neighborhood is 40.53% White and 57.35% Hispanic or Latino. Silver Lake is quite large and has many businesses but is better known for its peaceful residential areas. Silver Lake is bordered by Elysian Park to the east, Echo Park to the southeast, Atwater Village to the north, Filipinotown to the south, East Hollywood to the west and Los Feliz to the northwest. Recently the area has undergone extensive gentrification and especially the areas around the reservoir are becoming an expanding center of upper-middle-class homes, leading many to be priced-out of the neighborhood and seek more affordable housing nearby.
The Sunset Junction street fair, a major event in August showcasing top alternative rock artists is also held here. One band took its name from the strip mall at the intersection of Sunset and Silver Lake Boulevard, located two blocks from the property. 2719-2723 West Sunset Blvd. is conveniently located near numerous bus lines and within blocks you will arrive at the Metro Subway station at Wilshire and Alvarado. The building also has easy access and is in close proximity to the 101, 110, 5 and 10 freeways.
Within a four to five mile radius you have your choice of enjoying professional sporting events at The Staple’s Center, the elaborate Disney Concert Hall, a relaxing time at Griffith Park or a casual day at Dodger’s Stadium.
